Taking care of your jewellery

Remove before getting wet, sleeping, washing up or exercising.

Gently wipe with a soft cloth after using and keep stored in your d'oro pouch and box.

Apply jewellery after all skin care products and avoid alcohol or other harsh chemicals in products like washing liquid and hand sanitiser. If your jewellery has come into contact with any chemicals, rinse gently with cold water.

Take care

Over time, gold and rhodium can discolour and lose their shine due to interactions with products like lotions, perfumes and sweat.

Follow the above steps to help your d'oro jewellery last longer.

How is gold filled better than gold plated?

Gold-filled jewellery has x 100 more gold alloy than gold plated and because that layer is much thicker, it means gold filled jewellery lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better than gold plated.

How is rhodium filled better than plated?

As rhodium is part of the precious metals family, it is harder and more durable than gold. Normally, white gold or platinum jewellery is rhodium plated, however, many of our pieces are rhodium filled which means they have a thicker coating of rhodium. This means the jewellery ends up retaining its lustre for longer.

Caring for your huggies

Before wearing your huggies, practice opening and closing them to see how they click open and shut.

18K Gold and Rhodium are precious metals, so do not put too much force when closing the hinge.

The huggie post has a groove at the end that fits into the back of the huggie.

If your huggie does not stay closed, the solution for these conditions is to slightly (and very gently) push the tip of the post upward with your finger.
